My Blueberry Nights

This is a light romantic story about journey of life and love. Elizabeth (Norah Jones) is the main character whose trying to find the meaning of life througout her journey across the states. Before she began her journey, she often hang out at Jeremy’s (Jude Law) Diner in New York, and they began (or she started to send letters to him) to corresponding as she traveled.
Throughout her journey, Elizabeth encounter and meet people with different stories and circumstances, which their life and experiences she observed. At the end of the story, she came back to find Jeremy in New York when she’s ready to say goodbye to her old love and ready to spring a new one.
It’s a pretty light story, I remember. I did expect it would be a little bit deep, but it is still enjoyable. In fact, it has this dreamy ambiance which I love. Although less than expected, one still can contemplate on the meaning of the story.
I just remember that I quiet fond of this movie, and I feel like I want to watch it again now.
This movie was released in 2007, starring big names such as Jude Law, Norah Jones, the beauty Rachel Weisz, Natalie Portman, and many others. Kar Wai Wong was the director of the movie. Not a blockbuster, and it doesn’t gain many popularities among the societies, yet it has soft spot in my heart.
A typical Kar Wai Wong movie, many said.
One Day

So I have watched it. So I wept my tears.
Have not read the novel yet, but I think watching the movie first is better because then you would not be disappointed with it. Heard the novel is way better.
2 people, 20 years, 1 day. It is a movie that shown about their development in life througout the 2 decades they have been together. What they do, the achieved, they’ve been through.
a bitter-kinda sweet of love. kind of Ironic, though. I wouldn’t want to have today if I wouldn’t have tomorrow with the man I love.
But still, it’s a good movie to watch alone (if you don’t like people seeing u jerking ur tears)
The Leap Year

To commemorate the year 2012, I started the year’s first movie with “The Leap Year”, a romantic comedy starring Amy Adams and Matthew Goode.
There’s this girl fly long way to Irish to meet her boyfriend trying to propose to him. She ‘desperately’ does this since it’s been quite a long time they have the relationship and according to the Irish folklore, on February 29th where the leap year is happening, a girl could propose to the boyfriend and ask him for marriage.
Typical romantic comedy with cute story lines. I couldn’t imagine I will do things like the girl does, fly that long hours, conquer the storm and lack of transportation facilities just to propose to the guy she ‘feels’ the right one. But this movie reminds me on the romantic side of love people nowadays often forget (if not exaggerate).
I like the simplicity of the story, the dream which they deliver towards pictures, and the happy ending. Moreover, I like those Ireland Sceneries from Dingle to Dublin. I guess natural views always better seen by naked eyes rather than from a TV screen. By that mean, I wish I could also pay a visit to Ireland someday, along with Iceland (getting longer on my list).
I’m not a really active person compare with many of my friends, most of the time I come last (if not the slowest) in any sport that I do. But it doesn’t mean that I don’t like to enjoy the gift of Mother Nature. I wish I could go down under and up above, by that mean I would like to step my feet everywhere I could enjoy the natural sceneries.
Days go by in this place, and as much as I like the payment from my current job, I really need to expand my life. I am trying to apply for several programs right now. They haven’t opened yet, but I’m starting to prepare all the documents needed. Fingers crossed.
This is the leap year of 2012. Won’t propose any guy this year, but the sweetness of a nice guy I know still lingers in my mind. :)
