To commemorate the year 2012, I started the year’s first movie with “The Leap Year”, a romantic comedy starring Amy Adams and Matthew Goode.
There’s this girl fly long way to Irish to meet her boyfriend trying to propose to him. She ‘desperately’ does this since it’s been quite a long time they have the relationship and according to the Irish folklore, on February 29th where the leap year is happening, a girl could propose to the boyfriend and ask him for marriage.
Typical romantic comedy with cute story lines. I couldn’t imagine I will do things like the girl does, fly that long hours, conquer the storm and lack of transportation facilities just to propose to the guy she ‘feels’ the right one. But this movie reminds me on the romantic side of love people nowadays often forget (if not exaggerate).
I like the simplicity of the story, the dream which they deliver towards pictures, and the happy ending. Moreover, I like those Ireland Sceneries from Dingle to Dublin. I guess natural views always better seen by naked eyes rather than from a TV screen. By that mean, I wish I could also pay a visit to Ireland someday, along with Iceland (getting longer on my list).
I’m not a really active person compare with many of my friends, most of the time I come last (if not the slowest) in any sport that I do. But it doesn’t mean that I don’t like to enjoy the gift of Mother Nature. I wish I could go down under and up above, by that mean I would like to step my feet everywhere I could enjoy the natural sceneries.
Days go by in this place, and as much as I like the payment from my current job, I really need to expand my life. I am trying to apply for several programs right now. They haven’t opened yet, but I’m starting to prepare all the documents needed. Fingers crossed.
This is the leap year of 2012. Won’t propose any guy this year, but the sweetness of a nice guy I know still lingers in my mind. :)
